  • Supportive exercise shoes are required for group fitness classes.
  • Illness: If you are sick, (have a fever or are coughing excessively), please respect your classmates by not attending class until you are well. Rest, drink fluids, get well and then return to your classes.

Yoga Etiquette

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Layering is recommended for yoga classes due to varying sensitivities to temperature.
  • No shoes or socks are worn for yoga classes.
  • Mats, blankets, blocks and eye pillows are provided but you are also welcome to bring your own.
  • Please do not wear perfumes or strong scented lotions to class.
  • It is recommended that you not eat one hour before class.
  • Turn off your cell phones before entering the studio.
  • Please be early to class. Please be mindful to the disruption to others when entering a yoga class late.
  • Stay for the entire class. If you occasionally need to leave early, please let the teacher know beforehand and leave before final relaxation.
  • Honor Savasana. The final relaxation at the end of class is the most important one. If you cannot commit to at least 2 minutes in Savasana, we ask that you exit before so that others can enjoy this time quietly.
  • No experience or flexibility is required to practice yoga. Choose an "all levels" or "gentle" class if you are a beginner.
  • Be kind to yourself by accepting where you are. Listen to your body. It is okay to come out of a pose before the teacher says to. You have full permission to make the practice your own. Rest as much as you need to. Do what you can, with what you have, with where you are.
  • Let go of expectations, competition and judgment. Yoga is not a competitive sport.
  • If you have a medical condition or are healing an injury, please arrive early enough to speak with the instructor about it before class. Not every pose is appropriate for everyone.
  • Have fun!
